Position: Natural Turf Renovation / Tractor Operative
Location: South Wales (with projects across Wales & England)
Salary: £13–£15 per hour (equivalent to £32,500–£37,500 per year, based on approximately 2,500 hours annually)
Hours: Full-time contracting position Please note - A full Clean UK Driving Licence is required for you to be considered for this position.

Chappell Enterprises UK is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established company providing play, fitness, and landscaping solutions. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Operations Manager to join their team.
About Our Client:
Our client is one of the UK's most respected sports turf contractors, with a proud history spanning several decades. They specialise in the renovation, construction, and maintenance of natural turf sports surfaces, working with a wide range of clients from grassroots clubs to elite-level football and rugby teams across Wales and England.
About the Role:
This is a physical, hands-on position working outdoors on professional sports turf renovation projects across Wales and parts of England. You'll be part of a highly skilled team operating large machinery and performing essential manual tasks to help deliver first-class playing surfaces.
Key Responsibilities: - Operating agricultural and turf machinery, including tractors, Koro machines, topdressers, aerators, and overseeders
- Carrying out renovation works, such as Koroing and fraise mowing, aeration, verti-draining, and decompaction
- Topdressing and levelling, overseeding, fertiliser application, and turf repair
- Performing manual labour where needed including raking, shovelling, and general site preparation and clean-up
- Assisting with irrigation works, such as pipe laying and system setup
- Maintaining machinery; checking fluids, greasing, cleaning, and ensuring all equipment is in safe working order
Requirements:
Essential: - Proven experience operating agricultural tractors
- Experience in turf renovation, sports turf, or grounds maintenance
- Practical, hands-on attitude; this is not a "seat-only” role
- Willingness to travel, stay away from home, and work long hours when required
- Dependable, hardworking, and committed to delivering high-quality results
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable: - CPCS or NPORS Tractor ticket (advantageous but not essential, training will be provided)
