Chappell Enterprises UK is recruiting on behalf of our client, a specialist contractor known for their work in sports turf, landscaping, land drainage, water engineering, and associated groundworks. Due to ongoing workload and seasonal demand, they are seeking dedicated Plant Operators to join their team.

Our client is a well-established contractor with a reputation for delivering high-quality projects across various sectors. They pride themselves on their commitment to excellence and their ability to handle a diverse range of projects. With extensive experience rooted in agriculture, our client has expanded into sports surface construction, drainage, civil engineering, and large-scale landscaping. They offer in-house design and construction, employing skilled staff and machinery.
About the Role:
As a Plant Operator, you will be an integral part of the site team, operating dumpers, tractors and other plant machinery safely and efficiently while also supporting general groundworks and labouring duties. This role requires flexibility, as you will be working on various sites across the South, with some jobs requiring you to stay away from home.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate dumpers, tractors and other plant machinery safely and efficiently on site
• Support site teams with general groundworks and labouring duties when required
• Work to site plans and follow instructions from site management
• Carry out daily checks and basic machine care
• Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times
• Work productively both independently and as part of a team
Requirements:
Essential:
• Proven experience as a Dumper/Tractor/ Plant machinery operator
• Relevant plant tickets/card such as CPCS or NPORS
• Good understanding of safe site working practices
• Reliable, hardworking, and flexible approach to hands on work
• Willingness to travel and stay away when required
• Able to work long hours during peak season
Desirable:
• Extensive site experience
• Experience in sports turf, landscaping, or groundworks
• Additional plant operation skills
