Position: Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Operative/Gardener
Location: Dunstable
Salary: £13.00 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm
Duration: Initially 6 weeks, starting 7th April 2026.

Our client is seeking dedicated Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Operatives / Gardeners to join their team and help the town shine even brighter.

About Our Client:
Our client is committed to enhancing the town's green spaces and public areas. After winning the regional Anglia in Bloom award in 2025, they are now aiming to achieve even greater success in Britain in Bloom 2026.

About the Role:
As a Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Operative/Gardener, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving Dunstable's parks, green spaces, and public areas. Although this is initially 6 weeks' work, there is a possibility it could continue.

Key Responsibilities:
• General grounds maintenance across parks, open spaces, roadside verges, and public areas
• Grass cutting, strimming, edging, and general upkeep of landscaped areas
• Seasonal planting of flowers and bedding displays
• Watering, weeding, deadheading, and maintaining planted areas to a high standard
• Shrub and hedge maintenance, including pruning, trimming, and tidying
• Litter picking and clearing leaves or debris to keep public spaces clean and presentable
• Assisting with the preparation and improvement of areas being showcased as part of Britain in Bloom

Requirements:

Essential:
• Proven experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, horticulture, or a similar outdoor role
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Reliable and hardworking
• Passion for working outdoors with good plant knowledge

Desirable:
• Experience with seasonal planting and maintenance
• Knowledge of horticultural practices
• Familiarity with Britain in Bloom standards
