Maintenance Gardener Required for Sustainable & Organic Gardening Company in London - Driving Licence Required
WE ARE INTERVIEWING AND HIRING NOW, WITH 3 POSITIONS TO FILL WITH AN IMMEDIATE START DATE.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Maintenance Gardener to join a small team of gardeners, ensuring all grounds maintenance services are delivered to an excellent standard, to meet our customers’ high expectations. You must take pride in your work and strive to consistently improve your knowledge & skills. A full, clean UK/EU licence is essential, and experience driving a van is preferred, but not essential.
You will need to be passionate about sustainable, organic gardening and be looking for a career, as opposed to a stop-gap position. We are a family run business looking to grow and this will offer you the potential to progress within the business. We are looking for a proactive individual who is happy to develop their skills, with the opportunity for training if required.
The successful candidates must have:
A proven record of accomplishment in grounds maintenance with a minimum of one year's experience carrying out garden maintenance in a professional setting.
Horticulture knowledge.
The ability to motivate yourself.
Previous experience operating a range of horticultural equipment including power and hand tools, push mowers, strimmers, hedge cutting equipment etc.
Excellent awareness of Health & Safety issues and implementing procedures.
Be able to work at a fast pace, whilst still maintaining high attention to detail.
Be physically strong & fit as the days can be tiring - no need for the gym!
Good customer and people skills.
Be fluent in English.
Be well presented, hardworking and polite.
Reliable, honest & trustworthy.
Duties include mowing lawn, blowing & sweeping, pressure washing, weeding, planting, moss removal, ensuring all tools are present & maintaining them appropriately to ensure damage and loss is minimised, keeping the van clean, tidy & well organised so that tools can be found as and when needed and to minimise damage to plants & tools, being able to identify plants & prune using correct techniques and at the correct time of year.

Working hours: 8.00am - 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, with half an hour unpaid break for lunch.
Location: could be anywhere in London, but generally working around Muswell Hill, Highbury, Hackney, Hampstead & Richmond.
