Grounds Maintenance Operative (Temporary)
Location: Colchester Area
Pay Rate: £14.25 per hour
Start Date: 1st June 2026
Hays are currently recruiting for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to support our client on a temporary basis, working across high end commercial landscaping projects in the Colchester area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and skilled operative to join a well established team delivering high quality outdoor environments.
Your new role
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Planting and maintaining bedding plants to a high standard
- Carrying out composting and soil preparation
- Regular watering and upkeep of landscaped areas
- Supporting the delivery of premium commercial grounds maintenance projects
- Working hours are 07:00 - 16:30, offering a consistent daytime schedule.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in grounds maintenance or horticulture
- A full UK driving licence (essential)
- Strong attention to detail and pride in work quality
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
