PSD Groundscare is looking for a Trainee Business Development Manager to work alongside our UK Sales Manager across the South West region.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in groundscare machinery sales, product demonstrations and dealer support. You do not need to be the finished article. We are looking for someone with the right attitude, a genuine interest in machinery and the willingness to learn, develop and grow with the business.

Our specialist machinery range includes professional mowing equipment, turf care equipment, shredders, brushcutters, bank mowers, flail mowers, remote control mowers, ride-on lawn tractors, lawn care machinery and battery-powered equipment. As the business continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated trainee to work alongside our UK Sales Manager and assist with dealer visits, machinery demonstrations, product support, regional and national shows, and sales activity across the South West.
The role:
As Trainee Groundscare Machinery Sales & Demonstration Support, you will assist with dealership visits, customer demonstrations, machinery handovers, product training and sales support across the South West.
You will spend time out on the road with the UK Sales Manager, learning the products, meeting dealers and customers, and developing the skills needed to progress within technical sales and machinery support.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that would suit someone who enjoys machinery, being outdoors, meeting people and learning how products work.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting the UK Sales Manager with dealer and customer visits
- Assisting with machinery demonstrations across the South West
- Helping prepare, transport and present demonstration machinery
- Supporting dealerships with product knowledge and customer enquiries
- Helping customers understand the features and benefits of different machines
- Assisting with machinery handovers and basic customer training
- Following up with dealers and customers after demonstrations
- Supporting sales activity, quotations and customer updates
- Updating our Sales CRM, Pipedrive, on a daily basis
- Attending dealer open days, trade shows and demonstration events
- Supporting PSD Groundscare at regional and national shows
- Keeping demonstration machinery clean, tidy and presentable
- Representing PSD Groundscare professionally at all times
What we're looking for:
- Practical, hands-on and willing to learn
- Interested in garden and groundscare machinery
- Confident speaking with customers, dealers and colleagues
- Professional, reliable and well-organised
- Honest, with a strong sense of integrity
- Comfortable working in a field-based role
- Able to travel across the South West region
- Keen to develop a long-term career in machinery sales and demonstrations
- A full UK driving licence holder
- Passionate, confident and driven to succeed
Previous experience with groundscare, agricultural, plant hire, landscaping, turf care or outdoor machinery would be useful, but it is not essential. Attitude, interest, reliability and willingness to learn are the most important things.
Training and support:
You will be supported closely by our UK Sales Manager and wider PSD Groundscare team while you learn the products, customers, dealer network and sales process.
Product training will be provided, and BAGMA training will also be provided to support machinery handovers and basic customer training.
