Self Employed Gritting Operative Advert 1025
We here at Grounds Care Group have a great opportunity for experienced Self-Employed Gritting Operative to join our busy but friendly team in the London, Surrey and Surrounding Areas. We offer a Competitive daily rate of between £150 to £300(dependent upon skills & experience), on a Fixed Term Contract.
About Grounds Care Group
We carry out Grounds Maintenance, Landscape Improvement Works, Bulk Waste Removal, Japanese Knotweed Treatments, Gritting/Snow Clearance and Winter Maintenance Services for our multiple Clients across the UK.
About the Role
We are looking for Gritting Operatives to assist us throughout the gritting season from 1st November 2025 to the Middle of April 2026.
You need to be an experienced driver and a benefit if you have experience in Gritting. It is also important you are flexible, as you will either be on a set round or covering and will be working through the night at various locations including Shopping Centres, Residential Areas etc.
This job may suit you if you are seeking extra money in the winter, but you must be able to work through the night safely.
We have the following Opportunities Available
· Use your own van, for hand gritting. (You will need to be happy taking bagged salt in your van)
· Use your own van and we provide you with a gritting trailer.
· You drive our 4x4’s with our gritters on the back.
We will provide you with everything you need to get started and support you with the process. Salt will also be provided.
Essential skills required
You will need to hold a Full UK driving licence (3 points max)
An experienced Driver.
Be physically fit and able to lift up to 25kg bags of salt.
Good Verbal & Written Communication is Required
Have the right to work in the UK.
Have access to a smart phone for calls and emails.
Non-Essential
A B+E category licence would be a bonus.
