Position: Team Leader Arborist
Location: Chichester, covering the South East
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 DOE + Overtime paid at 1.5x
Hours: Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 16:00 (Part time will be considered)

Chappell Enterprises UK is recruiting on behalf of our client, a dynamic and expanding company in the arboricultural industry. They are seeking a dedicated and proactive Team Leader Arborist to join their team.
About Our Client:
Our client, a Safe Contractor Approved business, operates across the South East, providing top-tier arboricultural services in the Commercial, Domestic, Rail, and Utility sectors. With over a decade of industry experience, they are known for their reliability, honesty, and hardworking ethos.
About the Role:
As a Team Leader Arborist, you will manage on-site operations and lead a small team in delivering a variety of arboricultural works. Based out of the Chichester depot, this role involves supervising and ensuring the safety and efficiency of all tree care activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and lead a team on-site, ensuring work is carried out safely and to a high standard.
• Oversee site operations, including rigging, felling, chipping, and general tree maintenance.
• Conduct pre-job briefings and ensure compliance with all safety procedures and risk assessments.
• Maintain and manage tools, vehicles, and equipment on site.
• Communicate with management and clients as needed.
• Mentor junior team members and support their development.
Requirements:
Essential:
• Proven experience in arboriculture (as a climber or groundsman).
• Minimum qualifications: NPTC CS30, CS31, and CS38.
• Strong understanding of health and safety in tree work.
• Leadership ability and excellent communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
• CS39, UA1, UA2.1–2.3, MEWP (IPAF) qualifications.
• Experience working on contracts for SSE and/or National Grid.
• Background in utility, rail, or commercial arboriculture.
