Grounds Maintenance Workers

- Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (6 months)
Sheffield City Council are looking for five full-time Grounds Maintenance Workers for a six-month contract. This role is based in Norfolk Park, Sheffield, and offers a competitive hourly rate. Ideal candidates will be physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Maintain park grounds and public realms to high standards.
- Operate maintenance equipment like lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and other landscaping tools.
- Perform tasks such as planting, pruning, weeding, and mulching.
- Lift and transport heavy items and materials as needed.
- Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations.
- Work effectively within a team to complete tasks efficiently and on schedule.
- Report any issues or damages in public areas to supervisors.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Physical fitness and ability to engage in strenuous activities.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Experience in grounds maintenance or a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment (training will be provided if necessary).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Working Hours are Monday to Friday 7.30am - 17.00pm
