Our client, a renowned independent school, is seeking a dedicated Gardener to join their team and contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of their beautiful 500-acre estate.

About the Role:
As a Gardener, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and developing the landscaped and garden areas across the school site. You will ensure that the grounds are consistently well-presented and maintained to a high standard. Additionally, you will support the maintenance and set-up of sports playing surfaces, contributing to the smooth running of various school events.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain garden and lawn areas, including planting, weeding, pruning, and edging.
• Drive tractors and other machinery for maintenance and renovations.
• Undertake general maintenance and set-up of sports playing surfaces.
• Ensure the safety of paths and car parks during icy/snowy weather.
• Maintain effective communication with colleagues and report any significant issues.
• Promote the correct use and operation of machinery and equipment.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
• Proven experience in horticulture or grounds maintenance.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Basic knowledge of horticultural pests and diseases.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and additional hours as required.
Desirable:
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Grounds Maintenance or Horticulture.
• PA1/PA2/PA6, First Aid, and Chainsaw qualifications.
• Experience in a school or similar environment.
